When Matt and I moved in January we started going to a bible study in Hollywood. It was no surprise we started loving LA when these people came into our lives because they really are our LA family. We have felt so welcomed and loved by this group, not to mention the fun we have with them. About a month into attending, it got so big that we, as a group, decided to split in two and plant a new one in LA (our church doesn't have Sunday school, instead they have community groups all over the city, thus the missional view in planting new groups). The new group had been meeting at our house for about a month and has been going really well. The week before the official split, we had a joint party at our place. These pictures were taken that night. It is about time, you see the wonderful people we are blessed to be surrounded by.

Beach Biking

One of the beauties of living in Southern California is how many outdoor activities you can do in one day. For instance, the other day Ellen and I were driving 45 minutes up to Mt. Baldy to go snowboarding. We didn't realize we had to make reservations, so we had to switch to our backup plan: riding bikes on the sunny beach with our good friends the Gibbs. Not bad at all.
