House Tour (finally)

It is hard to believe that after 1 1/2 years of marriage, Matt and I have lived in 3 different homes. On January 2, we moved from Pasadena to a duplex essentially in the middle of Los Angeles. We LOVE it here. We are in a residential neighborhood, but we are minutes from Hollywood and the beaches. Matt's commute is now about 10 to 15 minutes verses the hour plus commute he had before. Here is a visual of our move:

So here is the long awaited (mostly by my mom) house tour. Being busy with my wonderful new job has made the completion of our house a little longer than we had wanted. But now we are pretty much at the finish line (other than a picture frame that needs to be hanged, etc). Here are the before and afters...

Outside

Before

After

This change was not our doing. But we love how much warmer the house looks!

Living Room/ Dining Room

Before

The entire house had all white walls. They were screaming to be painted!

After

Thanks to my mom, we got all our walls painted in a day.

Kitchen

Before
After

Not much changed in the kitchen except for some accessorizing and some curtains in front of our washer and dryer.

Bedroom

Before

More white!

After

Our bedroom went through two stages. After we painted our walls and moved the bed in with our old bedding, I would compare our bedroom to a cloudy day. With gray on the walls and brown on the bed, the room felt very gloomy. So...

After the After

...we rearranged the furniture to make the room more inviting and added a white duvet to the bed to brighten up the space. Down the road, we would love to buy a great quilt for the end of the bed, but for now, our old duvet will do just fine.

So there it is! We feel SO blessed that this is our home. Matt and I look at each other all the time and say we cannot believe we get to live here. God has given us so much, way more than we deserve. We can only hope we can use everything he has given us to glorify him

***Let me just state that we are renting, not buying, this place. For some reason a lot of people were asking!

Pictures That Make Me Laugh

So in the past three weeks we have had two different visits, one from my mom and stepdad and one from Matt's parents. During both trips, we took a trip to Disneyland to show them where we go on a biweekly basis. The pictures from them on the rides are hilarious!

A normal picture for reference:

Splash Mountain (way to take one for the team Matt!)

California Screamin:

Luke 13:1-5

1There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2And he answered them, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

Matthew 25:40

40The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
