We have no lives....

Because we have no money and we live in a city where gas is super expensive we have been spending quite a bit of time at home. This has given us time, too much time, to watch entire series on Netflix.

We caught up on the Office. I do not know how I managed to live with out this show, especially working in youth ministry so long. I can hardly stand that we have to wait an entire week between episodes.
We started watching Scrubs back in Birmingham, but are finishing the series out here. Zach Braff reminds me a lot of Matt. JD and Turks relationship is hilarious!

I NEVER thought I would love a TV show that centers around a high school football team but I cannot get enough of Friday Night Lights. I think it is similar to Lost in the character development. Characters I started out hating I now love and vice versa. We have one more season to watch before we are caught up but it doesn't start until January so we are trying to pace ourselves.

I knew we had not blogged in a while and I wanted to give an update, but as you can see, our lives are pretty boring. Hopefully we will be spending more time out of the house because I just got a job as a Nanny (praise the Lord) and Matt should be promoted sooner or later. We did buy Disney Annual Passes (the cheap ones) and have been frequenting the parks, but that is an entire other blog post altogether.

As I write this Matt is at an audition for a television show on the SyFy network. One of these days he will find his break!

A paraphrase of an E-mail to my dad...

Thought this was a pretty good summary of what has been going on:

Well, we found a church that we LOVE. The sermons are great and it does a lot in the community as well. They run this organization called Hope for Los Angeles that does things throughout the month with different organizations. For example, Matt and I joined them at a homeless shelter where we got to just hang out with the people staying there and have cookies with them. It was a lot of fun and through that we met some new friends. They are a young married couple and are really cool. We went to a bluegrass concert of all things with them. It was fun cause the band had like 15 people in it and we were crammed in the tiny pub called Molly Malones. We might be going on a fall retreat with the church up in the mountains in October so that should be fun. I also contacted the person in charge of youth group stuff and it looks like I am going to lead a bible study for high school girls this fall.

Matt is working at Apple. His boss told him the other day that they are already going to start the process of promoting him to a Creative position so that will be good. I think he will have more stable hours that way. He is taking classes at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and really liking it. The problem with that is the class is tuesdays and thursdays from 7:00pm to 11:00pm and the other days of the week he works until 10:00pm so we have not been seeing as much of each other as we would like. It has been hard but we are trying to pull through it and spend quality time with each other when we can.

I am still looking for a job. The Container Store has called me in for an interview on Thursday so we will see how that goes. I am getting really bored sitting at home so I am ready to have an excuse to go out and to get some more dolla dolla bills ya'll.

Pray that I get a job soon. Also pray that we spend our money wisely because our budget is super tight right now. It is a little scary but I am sure we will be ok. God always provides and it is silly to doubt him.
